Mobo and Urban Music Award winners join together to support persecuted Christians

MOBO and Urban Music Award winners Jahaziel and Guvna B, have united with a number of Christian Hip Hop artists for a new charity single aimed to raise awareness of countless Christians who face injustice, persecution and discrimination simply because of their faith. Performing under the name of The Frontline, they have been joined by New Direction Crew, E Tizz, McGladius from 29th Chapter, Armor, and S.O, to record Coming For Me, a track the artists hope will bring the horrendous situation that many people suffer to the attention of a new generation.

Coming For Me, is the brainchild of Open Doors, a charity serving persecuted Christians globally, in association with Preacher Boy Missions, and will be released as a single on Tuesday 16th November. A preview of the track is available at facebook.com/opendoorsyouth

Rapper Jahaziel, who went on a trip to aid the persecuted in Pakistan, said: "Meeting with Christian brothers and sisters in Pakistan who've lost homes, family, and their freedoms for following Jesus is the starkest reminder I have ever experienced of what the Gospel of Jesus means. Their horrific plight inspired me to make this track and hopefully give these people a voice."

Coming For Me is being released in conjunction with Open Doors' Right to Believe campaign, which aims to support those around the world who do not have the right and freedom to believe. At the heart of the campaign is a petition that will be presented to United Nations Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, urging the global community to reject the Defamation of Religions legislation which gives persecution international legitimacy in many countries.

Open Doors campaigns for those facing great persecution, such as fifteen-year-old Anab Ghelle Hassan, who was abducted eight months ago by members of the controlling Islamic extremist group al Shabaab in Somalia because of her family's conversion from Islam to Christianity. This extremist group wants to impose a strict version of Sharia (Islamic law) and rid Somalia of its Christian community. Open Doors and Preacher Boy Missions hope the release of Coming for Me will raise more awareness, support, and concern for young Christians like Anab, who suffer for their faith.

Open Doors spokesman Jonny Goodchild, says, "This is a wonderful opportunity, and a vital message to get out there to young people. Hip Hop is one of the most influential art forms in the world so what better platform? The Bible clearly states that when one part of the body suffers, we all suffer. We want to be a voice for the voiceless."
