Smuggling Bibles, smuggling hope
More dangerous than weapons or drugs, in some countries the Bible is the most threatening thing you could own. Together with news from Central African Republic and stories of hope from women in Bangladesh, this month’s magazine tells you why the Bible is the most dangerous book in the world and how you can smuggle hope to believers where extreme persecution is rife.

It's Time: Wake up to Extreme Persecution
In this bumper new year edition we launch the It's Time campaign, a year of prayer and action for Christians in North Korea and where faith costs the most. This month we focus on North Korea, still the most difficult place to be a Christian. But despite the most severe oppression, the church in North Korea continues to be a light in the darkness. We also report on the presentation of the Save Syria petition at the UN in New York, in London and at the EU. Plus ten reasons to come to next year's Jars of Clay event.
Walking with widows and orphans
Link arms with your grieving family, this month, as you hear the stories of Deborah in Nigeria, Marian in Cameroon and Luz Elena in Colombia. Find out how you can give hope to widows and orphans by praying, giving and sending cards of encouragement. And discover how the global petition for our Save Syria campaign has been taken to the corridors of power and add your voice.
Business, bees and hidden believers
In this issue, we report on the challenges facing believers in Central Asia, where the decision to follow Jesus comes at a high price. We also tell the story of recent violence against the church in Egypt, shown through a series of dramatic photos taken by a photographer in Cairo. Plus find out what the children in your life can do to Save Syria through the new Kidzone resource, Shine Like Stars.
The Sons and Daughters of Syria
As the situation in Syria continues to deteriorate, we report on how God is at work as His people pray, speak out and provide practical relief to their neighbours. For the International Day of Prayer on 3 November, we are encouraging supporters to join with their Syrian family by praying and speaking out for the church in Syria. We also share stories of how God is transforming lives through our Secret Children programme. Plus the story of Pablo, a drug-trafficker-turned-Bible-smuggler, in Colombia.
Save Syria: Campaign Special
To highlight the launch of our Save Syria campaign, this month's magazine focuses on how the worsening crisis in Syria is impacting Christians, and how, despite the dangers, God has given churches a vision to reach out to those in need. "I believe the Lord has been preparing the church for this day," says Pastor Edward.
